John (43/365)

John C.: Salt to Mary's pepper, ying to her yang. Annually she throws a "surprise" party for his birthday. Successful railroad attorney that was actually honest and pure. Introduced me to Canada and Island H; seedling my love affair of wilderness adventure. Calls me "Leeza".

P.S. This is my golden post! #43 with 43 words!!!

Congrats! lol

I keep cheating on my 365 blog. I count contracted words (like "we're" instead of "we are" and "she'll" instead of "she will") as one word. When Dan publishes his anthology of all this stuff he'll (he will) probably leave me out!

Congratulations, Lisa. I forgot to notice that particular milestone. Yes, those hyphens and contractions're useful.

I sometimes keep pulling words in and out, and slicing them sideways, but when you "only" have 48 to work with, the contraction and the dash are your very best friend! I really can't fathom how the "under 50" group manage to capture people so perfectly with such limited word count. But they do it, and beautifully.

congrats, by the way, on your golden post. I didn't even notice mine, so now I'll have to go back and figure out who was 48 x 48
